INSTRUCTIONS FOR RESIDENTS TO CERTIFY
Welcome to the AWLS Course!
Whether you are in a formal AWLS course or in another wilderness medicine course, or setting up your own rotation, you will use this site to study AWLS material.
If you are setting up your own rotation, let me know if I am the preceptor and also let me know if I am going to need to fill out an evaluation. Here is my email address: richard.ingebretsen@m.cc.utah.edu

In order to pass this online course, you will need to study and pass two programs of study.
Advanced Wilderness Life Support - AWLS
Medicine of Outdoor Sports
1. AWLS
Navigate to the AWLS program and then to Medical Students and read the instructions.
Go back to the AWLS page and follow the instructions.
The password to take the AWLS certification will be given when you register. We have a ‘Pay What You Can Afford’ option.
If you pass the AWLS certification exam, we will be notified that you passed. If you fail, we will also be notified.
2. Medicine of Outdoor Sports
Navigate to the Medicine of Outdoor Sports page and follow the instructions.
The password to take the Medicine of Outdoor Sports certification exam will be given when you register. We have a ‘Pay What You Can Afford’ option.
If you pass the certification exam, we will be notified that you passed. If you fail, we will also be notified.
